JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. (KTVI) – A peculiar "pet" roaming through a Missouri county has caused growing concern among officials and residents. The animal — a four-point buck — has been spotted in Jefferson County with a collar around its neck and the word "pet" painted on its coat. But for some of those who live in the city of Festus, these sightings no longer come as a surprise."We were sitting up there eating, and here he is walking up in the backyard, and I look at [my wife] going, 'What’s going on? He’s not scared?'" Craig Brooks recalled of his earlier encounter with the deer. Bowfisherman scores world record fish in Missouri Brooks and his wife, Ann Brooks, have lived in the neighborhood for years. But recently, he and his neighbors have increasingly noticed the domesticated deer around houses in the subdivision."By the burn pile, he’s from me to you," he told a reporter with Nexstar's KTVI during an interview. Published Fri, 21 Feb 2025 18:23:45 GMT

While the Twins were still competing in the playoffs, Byron Buxton’s singular focus was getting his body back to the point where he could go out there and compete alongside his teammates. He did, returning after two and a half months on the injured list on Wednesday. The Twins activated Buxton before Game 4 of the American League Division Series against the Houston Astros as an injury replacement for Alex Kirilloff, and he took one pinch-hit at-bat in Wednesday’s Game 4 elimination loss. Now that the Twins have been bounced from the postseason, the focus will shift to getting their players healthy — particularly Buxton, Kirilloff and Carlos Correa, all of whom spent much of the 2023 season playing through pain. For Buxton, a knee issue that first presented itself last year kept him from playing the field for the entirety of the season, limiting him to DHing. By the end of the season, the Twins had been talking about him returning to center field, but one game out there on a rehab...
