FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — A 16-year-old girl from Fayetteville, North Carolina, was found on Christmas Day by deputies after she was reportedly lured across state lines and taken to Kentucky. Zackary Jones, 34, had been in communication with the teen through Facebook, where he claimed he was 19 years old, according to Deputy Ron Luster of the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office in Kentucky. She was reported missing on Dec. 8 to the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office.Deputies responded to Jones' home after receiving a call from his mother, Luster said. She called to report an altercation between her son, Zackary, and "his girlfriend." When deputies arrived at the home in the Kings Mountain area of Kentucky, they found Jones and his mother, but no one else.Jones lied to deputies, saying she was not there, Luster said. An investigation is underway Friday to determine what caused a Metro bus to crash into a parked motorhome in the Gramercy Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. The incident was reported around 2 a.m. near the intersection of West 90th Street and Normandie Avenue.A man who was sleeping inside the motorhome said he was awakened by the sounds of the crash. Video from the scene showed major damage to both vehicles. The man said that items inside the motorhome fell on top of him as the vehicle was pushed forward, also striking his SUV. The man did not appear to be seriously hurt. There was no word on the condition of the bus driver. (BCN) -- Richmond police this week arrested a man who allegedly fled from officers while carrying a loaded gun. Officers pulled a vehicle over for alleged code violations around 9 p.m. Sunday in the 700 block of 23rd Street. Santa Cruz driver identified in fatal wreck on Highway 1 last week Police said the driver exited the vehicle and refused to follow officers' directions. The driver then attempted to flee on foot, but police took him into custody after a short pursuit. Officers allegedly found the driver to have a loaded "ghost gun" and additional magazines. While searching his vehicle, police found another firearm, more high-capacity pistol magazines, and marijuana. Police transported the suspect to Richmond police headquarters, where he was booked on suspicion of weapons violations. (KRON) -- A man who died in a traffic collision on state Highway 1 in Santa Cruz last week has been identified by the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office as Cesar Ramirez Garcia, a 27-year-old resident of Santa Cruz. It may soon be against the law to carry a concealed handgun into a restaurant, bar or club in Virginia.Currently, a person with a concealed handgun permit is allowed to be in a business where alcohol is served, as long as the gun-owner isn’t under the influence of alcohol or drugs.However, a bill introduced this week in Richmond by State Sen. Saddam Salim — a Democrat representing parts of Fairfax County, and the cities of Fairfax and Falls Church — would make it illegal for a gun owner to carry the weapon into the establishment, even without taking a drink.Salim’s bill, SB 57, would make it a Class 2 misdemeanor to have the concealed weapon in any business that has been granted a Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority license to sell and serve alcohol for on-premises consumption.The bill would exempt local, state, federal and certain retired law enforcement officers from carrying a gun into the establishment.The Virginia Citizens Defense League, a nonprofit focus...Latest news
